Great video and I love the song choice. Prompted me to listen to some Avett Brothers at work Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
The most boring hunting coverage on any show! Many people see more deer in one sit than I do all season
Would love to get back up into that neck of the woods. My father's family was from the area. My dad lived in Babbit, and my grandparents lived in Aurora. They had a cabin on Fall Lake. Wish so bad they hadn't sold it years ago. Spent a number of summers fishing, the one I remember the most was fishing Grassy lake and the 2 hr canoe trip into it. Along with the black bear that decided it wanted to visit our camp site.
Great stuff Fitz! Buster is just a tank. I bet his rack will look much bigger than it appears due to his ginormous body!
TBT is a fantastic band! Been a fan since the beginning. I used to work with Dave Carroll, the banjo player. He's a super nice guy!
I actually hunted about an hour and a half straight west of you near the small town of Togo for a few years. The big woods experience is incredible... Just the thought of what might and what could step out any time is fascinating.
BIG WOODS HUNTING BIG WOODS HUNTING!!! Subscribed and looking forward to seeing how your season unfolds. Also can't wait to see some of your stuff on BHOD. Good luck this year!
Sweet set up and buster is a beast. No doubt us farm hunters will see more deer, but I would trade experiences with you any time. We are living in the perfect period for bow hunting, as deer populations are much larger than 35-100 years ago. I was wondering if you have had any luck with scrape drippers or throw and grow products?
Fitz, always enjoy following along - you really do have a captive audiance as you do a good job pulling everyone in. A few questions. 1. Why did they do the clear cut? I mean was it a timber harvest or did it have some other implications? You might have mentioned it before, if so I can't remember. 2. It looks like Buster has some mid on his legs, does he dredge through swamp or is it just the photo that makes it look like that? Only reason I am curious is here in Indiana I have a bunch of bucks that dredge through the swamp and cattails and they always have mud half way up their legs. Good luck this season!
I've used drippers sparingly, but it can be tough with the low densities that we see here. I've never planted anything up here. Perhaps someday, but I'd need to bring in soil. There just isn't any here. The last glaciers stole all our topsoil and deposited it in the grainbelt It's interesting to try and figure out what the whitetail are naturally browsing on though. Right now they seem to be hammering the hazelnut bushes.
