That's crazy. Hard to tell what kind of bird that is from the picture.

They're huge scavengers. If you have food 4 out of 5 times they'll eat out of your hand. Also called Camp Robbers or Whiskey Jacks.

He's a beauty. Quit messing around with the birds and get it done, Fitz!

OK, woak up this AM with a splitting headache. Probably a combination of dehydration and lack of coffee for my caffeine addicted body. I'm going to game plan for tonight and tomorrow's hunts and make sure I'm not ruining my chances.

I have to say, I haven't been able to get out near as much this season, but my % of sightings and action has been stronger than any other year. I'm hunting less, but being much more strategic about my sits. And that's paying off. I'm hoping to keep this momentum building!

    I have the best deer/sit average @ 1.57 (2nd best 1.36, worst .38) and highest % of deer being bucks at 27.27% (2nd highest 26.92, worst 3.57%).

Anyway, I'm looking forward to this last week and a half before I head to WI for Rifle season there. A lot can happen in the next handful of days!

I decided to head right back to the Grassy Bench. I'm all set for an evening sit. I'll probably leave the camera arm and some gear here and come back for a quick AM hunt too. In-laws leave mid-morning, so I'll hunt a couple hours and slip back in to say goodbye.

They're telling you they want some deer fat, and to hurry up and seal the deal already. Get 'em, Fitz!

My brother headed home for a couple nights and will be back later this week. He saw does every day, but no suitors in tow. Hoping things rev up by the time he comes back.

I'll pull the card on the Grassy Bench cam again when I get down tomorrow morning. I'm also hoping for a short AM hunt Weds up in the North shore. If nothing else, I want to pull that card again. :busted:
