Well, interesting afternoon. As I was walking in I had the same basket come grunting into 7 yards. Almost got to draw on him! Hoping the video turned out anyway.
Set up overlooking the clearing we used to hunt Count Chocula over. The old scrape has been visited some too.
Nothing much the rest of the night. Thought I could hear deer walking to my N a couple times, but I'm not sure. It was nice an quiet once the winds laid down. First time I've been able to hear for awhile. Dad saw a doe early I believe. My brother saw a doe and button, and a little basket. He later had Orange walk the clearcut and eventually shoot at the basket. He thinks they got it. My FIL saw 6 does this am and 1 tonight. Tomorrow I'm going to give the Grassy Bench to the south a shot. That's the spot where the trail cam has been getting a variety of bucks cruising through. Most at night still, but they'll mess up sooner or later. The neighbor on the lake that had a good buck on camera this late summer just got a nice one on his camera in the area of the Grassy Bench. I think it's the same big ten I got on Friday's card pull. Not 100%, but I'm close.
