Calm and cool with temps currently around 23*. I'm going to sneak out for a morning hunt. Headed around to the SW edge of the ridge behind the Lodge. Hoping to catch some bucks scent checking the ridge, which is a great doe bedding area.

    Wish me luck!

I don't know. With the calm morning and slight S breeze, I think it might be a neighbor down the highway?

    Well, that's a wrap.

I snuck out of there. Didn't even want to do my last interview in the tree. Just too dang close to where does bed and it's soooo quiet today. No plans to hunt tomorrow, but Nick will get here tomorrow night. Forecast looks crappy for the first couple days, but we'll do what we can. Wednesday's rain might have us check cams, doctor scrapes and set up the ground blind. Tuesday looks windy, but the rain should tapper off.

I'm pretty dang excited for this week

Oh yeah, I did hear something walk behind me about 11:45, but never saw it. When I walked out I saw fresh tracks on my trail and jumped a doe at the road. 90% sure that was her I had heard in stand.

Nick got up late last night and it's been raining hard ever since. We elected to check cams and game plan today in the rain and possibly move a stand or two and set up a ground blind. First card pull had 5 or six different bucks on it, including one that could be Buster.

Busted by a doe at the second camera, and pull the LW I had hanging there from my first sit along the swamp and clearcut.

Busted a very nice buck with dark horns at the 3rd cam in the North Shore. Didn't have him on cam but got the blood flowing!

Rain is supposed to taper off in the AM and we'll hunt accordingly. If it's dry right away, we'll spend the morning up on the ridge I hunted last and set up a new cam and scrape. Then we'll go to either the North Shore or to the Grassy Bench Stand from my second hunt. That's where the first camera was that got the most buck pics.

Here's the pic I though could be Buster

A nice and wide apparent 7 pt?

    And nice smaller buck

... Oh yeah, jumping that buck in the North Shore wasn't the only excitement from there
