Fitz - Great pics and story! Punched tag is just icing on the cake - it's hard to beat time in the mountains hunting elk with good company...especially DIY style (at least for me, an outfitter would take away a lot of what I like most on a hunt like this). The experience you gained on first trip is priceless... Good luck on the whitetails this fall!
That was great wish my dad was still around to do something like that. He didn't hunt more of a fisherman but loved the outdoors.
Not sure. I suppose I might as an incidental type tag. But I really wanted all my focus to be on elk for this trip.
Alright, I'm back in a stand! Paddled across the lake (trolling motor is still messed up) and I'm sitting in the SE corner of that new clearcut. There's a nice pinch between the cut and a swamp to my S. Winds are supposed to be SE, but they're a bit swirly right now. I'll upload photos in a bit. Photobucket decided to upload 40 other photos first.
Last few minutes of camera light. Winds look good tomorrow for the same set up so I think I'll come back here and save some work
Just has something run west and circle the entire cut to my N. Too dusky to see. Didn't sound like a deer. Possibly a wolf?
We'll let you luck be better in future. What do u have for a filming set up? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
