My brother won't hunt up here after this weekend. I will have to wait to hunt there until I can safely cross the lake ice. Our highs don't get out of the mid 20's for at least the 9 day forecast. Lows down into single digits some nights. It's the season for making ice.
Had a deer come from behind. Straight down wind and busted me. Didn't get a look at its head through the timber.
Nothing more. Not sure if I'm going to hunt tomorrow. Might need a day to recharge. Cousin's headed home early with the snow storm coming. Bro is hunting the morning and headed home.
10* this AM. Skim ice over 70% of the lake. We won't get much if any out of the storm, but our temps are cold. I'd like a good week or two of cold temps without snow to get a good ice base.

Sucker punched by the boss's decision to go ahead with a septic excavation project. Kills the whole week as far as hunting goes. I spent the whole day today clearing trees for the relocated lines. ... I'm not a happy camper. Might get out over the weekend, depending on how things go. I leave Weds night or Thurs AM for WI.
On the plus side, I saw a little 10 pt on the driveway today... ... probably after walking under a couple of my stands.
