So any plan of attack for later in the week? Just waiting for Buster, Whistler or one of the others to show up. As I'm sure you are/have been. Pulled the card from whistles ridge? Played 20 questions lately?
We Tuesday I'm out of town, but I'll be back at it Weds. Looks like a N-ish wind Weds & Thurs, S Fri, and back to N the first part of the weekend. I'm most likely going to bounce around until I find or see some sign. N winds are good for Whistler's ridge. The card there has had nothing but does on it. In fact, most of my cameras have nothing but does this year. I'm hoping that's does the trick bringing in the bucks though. Rifle season opens next weekend. My brother will be up and I just found out that my cousin and his son are coming up too. It'll be great having everyone in camp. I'd love for my cousin and his boy to see or hear some wolves while they're here. Most likely will happen I'll try and make it across one more time to pull my cards there and see if any more bucks have shown up. That's where most of the boys will be hunting unless we get froze out. Temps look moderate for now though. So.... I guess my plan is to kill a buck in the morning and film all weekend!
I was holding out hope and hoping he just vacated a particular area, last encounter was the shot wasn't it?
I love reading your thread good luck this year. I wish I had a lot of land to hunt. I need to move away from RI. lol
So at dusk I was sitting here finishing up my presentation for tomorrow, I look out and see a doe get bumped by a nice little 6pt basket with no brows. He then proceeded to rub a clump of brush and make a scrape, all right down by our beach. .... jerk.
Winds really switch up over the next few days. Today I'm heading to the killing pond. I have everything for an all day sit, but the winds are supposed to switch as they die off mid day. I'll see how conditions are and decide then how long of a sit I'll have. In the canoe now, about 1/3 the way there. See you in the tree!
