Ha! Dead tree nearly took out my sticks, squirrel chewed my seat cushion, my camera mount is on the non-working battery pack that I used yesterday ....... When it rains it pours!
Ok, I'm better now. Was able to remove the adapter base on my fluid head and mount my camera directly to it. Had to use my buck knife as a screwdriver ( at least it's being used for something ). Going to try and enjoy the rest of my last sit in the outlet for the year. Then I'll break down and pack out this set.
Been pretty slow. I can hear the beavers working behind me. I don't think they're too happy about the ice either. 30 min to go.
Yeah, tonight's low is 15. That's what they said last night and we hit 10. Possibly. ... if there are highlights
A little mental fart but I'm set up now. Got ready late morning so I could sneak up on the ridge behind the lodge. Got up there and started setting up only to realize that I didn't have my tree strap. Had to sneak out to get it and sneak back in. Set up now though. Here's the view to my 11. My 1 And my 2 o'clock
Wind is starting to lay down. It's going to be a quiet last hour. I think I'm going to leave the stand and hunt here in the morning. Then I'll pull it and take the afternoon to get ready for my trip to Duluth Tuesday.
I layer up depending on the day. That day I had: Top- UA 2.0 shirt, Gamehide pull over fleece, my BH.com (Northface type) Jacket. and my Gamehide Gridloc jacket Bottom- UA 2.0 pant, Gamehide Cargo pant, and Gridloc pant Head- BH.com lost baseball cap and Gamehide Apex skull cap Hands- old pair of UA liner gloves & a hand muff. I'll just use my jacket pockets until it's cold enough for the muff. I really want to get a heater body suit for the late season, but my old gander parka and bibs might just get one more season of use.
