I really enjoy ur journal fitz u got ur hands full that's for sure. Those are bucks of a lifetime to me man. My favorite being Blade I hope u get the ghost cuz he is a bruiser just as well as the other two. Those are mature deer that will definitely give a bowhunters ticker a jump an I'm glad u will be chasing some fine whitetail. Best of luck as I'm sure u are already getting things lined out for the upcoming season. Goodhuntin bud Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2
Tic Toc....Tic Toc....We're getting closer Fitz!!!! Chase and I bought our Wisconsin license today. We'll pick up the Minnesota ones when we are up there. Looking forward to next weekend hanging stands and getting the tour>>>>>Time to sort through the stands this week and get everything organized!
Nice Todd! Tomorrow is trail camera day I'm going to let the two cameras near the beaver dam soak another week until you get here. We'll be trouncing around there setting stands anyway, so We can check then. I'm excited to see if anything showed up on the camera in the Big Cut. It's been there a couple weeks now. If nothing is on it I'll put it and find a new home. Gonna see if the old man wants to put out his other cam too I'll let everyone know if I get anything good! I hope this week goes by fast
I don't think popularity has much to do with it. I just happen to live in an area thats different from most hunters, so it's somewhat interesting.
Okay Fitz, I just got caught up on the thread and will be a loyal follower. Good luck to you this year, sorry the elk hunt didn't work out. Hope your wife is doing well.
Looks like you have a amazing place out there! So where is this lodge, and if I come with my bow can we make it a guided lodge stay??
Another bust of a card pull..... but, I didn't check 3 cameras. The two by the dam I wasn't planning to check, but the one on the ridge where I shot at Whistler, I was. Turns out our neighbors are there with a bunch of people having a cook out. It's easiest to access through their driveway, and I still would have gone, but they have 6 or so dogs there now. I didn't want any of them following me in and getting familiar with the area. Those three cams are the ones I'm expecting to get the big boys on, but I was hoping that some of the others would produce. I moved one cam a few hundred yards from an old clear cut to a 90 turn in an old swamp logging road. I have another place in mind, but figured I could have some help next weekend moving it
Sounds good fitz! hopefully we can get those big boys on camera! Getting closer and bags are getting packed!
Cant wait for the season to come I am getting all my new stands and sticks prepped for the last trip up north to trempealeau co Wi till the season open probably wont hunt there till mid October but got a date planned to check cam in late September.
This is an awesome thread. I've got a buddy that canoes in the Boundary Waters every summer; says it's beautiful country. How many bucks can you take in MN? Good luck.
One buck state wide. I'm in a Lottery Zone this year which means one tag overall, it's an either or. I'll be self imposed buck only until the last week in Dec. Though, being a party hunting state, I may hunt with my dad or neighbor a few times to help them shoot a doe. My wife hasn't decided if she's going to hunt at all this year.
Four more days until we get to hit to woods to hang some stands stands & check some cameras Still no word from the DNR on the beaverdam. Be sure to watch the next episode of ... you just might see some familiar faces, errr... antlers
