    Buster is a stud..
Fitz have you ever considered putting in a small 1/4 acre (or so) 'kill plot' back in the woods? (dumb question, cause i'm sure you've considered it but is there a reason you haven't)..?

Season ends on the 31st. If I can dump this sinus cold and get through one more christmas gathering, I'm hoping to get out a few more times.

    Main reasons I haven't are:
I've been trying to figure them out on their turf
To put it in a location that'd be good to hunt, I'd literally have to bring in soil.

Well, sadly today I am officially throwing in the towel on the 2013 Season. I was hoping to get out once or twice during the last few days here but....

Honestly, I'm pretty sure my season ended back in November. With Blade gone and Buster nockturnal, my heart just hasn't been in it.

I'm looking forward to next season and a fresh start. New camera placements, new prey, new stand sites.

Thank you all for following me along in these woods. I love hunting up here and started these journals for myself. I had no idea the number of folks that would be following my seasons. Thanks for all the support, well wishes and advice along the way. The 2014 Season Journal will be here before you know it :tu:

Fitz, thanks for taking us with you throughout your hunting season. I've enjoyed every minute of it. Application for Wyoming elk licenses starts Jan. 1 :)

Thank you so much for the stats Fitz. It's nice to see it all laid out like that. I know that hunting is a lot of preparation/sitting/stalking and seeing a deer is not a guarantee (unless you're in some parts of Texas so I've heard), but those numbers make it so much more tangible. You put a lot of effort into one moment that may not happen. It was so cool to be able to get a glimpse into hunting in land as yours and all of your triumphs and hardships. Keep up the good fight and keep sharing your awesome experiences. Thank you!

    Awesome work on that data!

I have been dreaming of keeping data like that for a couple years...I just always lose track about mid season.

It's a pain some days, but it has become part of my routine. I'm glad I've been sticking with it, because I now have enough data to actually glean information out of it.

It, like this journal, is also nice to have to look through. really helps me relive the hunts. I remember more that I otherwise would.

Do you bring a journal with to write down as the day goes? Or is this just something you do as soon as you get home?

I do it when I get home. I have an Excel Spreadsheet that I enter it all into. If I was in an area of the country that I saw more deer throughout a sit, I'd make notes on my phone. But as my data shows, it's pretty easy to remember when something happens :tu:

Great stuff and I am very thankful. Some of your hunts keep me on the edge of my seat. I love this stuff. I think you could write an article or a book about your adventures. I would buy it!
