Wow! This was a great story. Well worth the subscription lol. Here is how it would have went if that were me and my brother.
My brother shoots the deer i have been chasing for 3 plus years. Text me and tells me so . I climb down from the stand run over make sure it's the deer. Punch brother square in the chest hard. Then tackle him with a congratulatory hug. You owe your brother a punch in the arm at least. :)

How well do you know Buster and his travels? I know you've hunted him before, bu it seems like with Blade the key was finding him last year up on Whistlers ridge. Think Buster will take over Blades territory?

And now that Blade has become legend, I'm sure once you start moving the cams you'll find a few more worthy opponents.

I think their territories overlapped some, but I don't really know much about where Buster is going. They spent a lot of time in the summer together, and I know Buster has crossed over a couple times to our side of the lake, but I think he hangs back to the SW of the lake more.

I have one pic of Buster in velvet 40 yards from the stand my brother was siting in. But thats the only one there. Hard to say if he'll move in. I think Buster was more aggressive than Blade. He'd push him around all the time on the one mineral sight. I'd guess he'd stay with a similar range as he has, cause honestly, I think he would have pushed Blade out if he wanted to.

Sorry I am a litttle late fitz but so glad to see success...Wish he was in your hands but happy for the Fitz crew!

On another note, and sorry if I missed it, but have you checked the panoramic cam yet? I just got mine set up a few days ago.

Wow.. Haven't been on for a little while and I come back to read this story. I don't know what to say that hasn't been said by everyone else. I am glad to have been able to share this story from afar. Congrats to your family for a successful day of hunting. And congrats to you bud for finally getting your hands on Blade. I know it wasn't exactly how you had planned for it to happen, but you showed true class as always!! You're a person on this site we can all look up to!! Congrats bro!

Actually those first couple photos are from the Pano. I just cropped them. Here's the full ones.

    My initial thoughts-
    Pros:
    Neat
can cover a couple trails @ one
camera movement doesn't seem to spook deer
Performed alright so far even with our colder temps
    ....

    Cons:
    Hard to preview photos quickly
Most of the photo is useless
Got a few mid photo headless deer (since it moves and time passes between photos)
    Seems gimmicky

I won't be buying one for myself as they are. I also don't think my brother will buy another. Does make me want to buy a couple add a cam brackets for my Stic-n-pics. Covering a wider view is nice.

I just spent the last two 2hr busting ice and checking my cam across the lake. I'm now going to scramble to hang the Alpha and sit for the night my my brother's stand. I'm hoping to hang in the yellow shaded area to give me the greatest wind advantage. The biggest problem is a lake of good trees, especially with any sort of back cover.

My brother's stand isn't good for bowhunting. I've sat down along that creek once before, but the tree I was in sucked, so we'll just have to see what I find.

This is the same area where he got all those pics of Buster. That one on the 8th right at dusk gives me some hope. I'm going to bring one of my cams with too. Can't hurt.

I'm off to organize and shower. See you in the woods :tu:

20 mph winds and frozen shores means I opt for the fast commute.

Haven't deployed my cam yet, but I'm sitting along the creek between my brothers two.

    Here's the view to my 7 o'clock

And the creek crossing to my 10

Gavin back to the Killing Pond and a second crossing to my 2 o'clock

And one little peak to my 5

Time no to cool off and settle in!

Let's see if Buster or that big 6 want to play nice. :tu:
