Well, I haven't heard from the DNR yet, but I made it back to the Killing Pond to swap out cameras. Good thing too, they're picking off the Red IR and that cam is having a bit a a moisture problem.

I did take a few photos of the lodge and what the view would be from it.

    The Doe Bleat Lodge.

    10 o'clock view, 30 yrds to water's edge.

    12 o'clock view, 30 yards to edge.

    2 o'clock view, 18-20 yards.

And the 3-4 o'clock view about 7 yards.

I've also hatched 3 plans to get in there. So now I'm just waiting for the green light from the DNR. :tu:

Any way to engineer the blind so you can float your canoe right into it?

It'd have to be 17' long. I think I'll be able to paddle or walk to just down stream of the dam, then walk the water's edge to the lodge. I may need to bring a 2"x10" plank to walk though, to make it onto the lodge :tu:

Thank you so much for sharing. This looks like an incredible experience. Definitely different from what I'm used to in Ohio

Fitz, thanks for the updates on the lodge. How deep is the water around the lodge and to the shore? Waders...hip boots...18" La Crosse rubber boots..all of the above....what do you think?

Hopefully you get a response from the DNR soon...though I can only imagine the conversation around the DNR office...."He wants to do what?" "Well I don't know...where would we even have that written down?" "Its above the water line...so..."
