I feel you on the motion sickness thing. Last nights hunt was a thrill ride. Should have been an admission charge and a sign that read "you must be this tall to ride."

    Oh...and I didn't see any deer.

Today is windy again and it's supposed to rain all afternoon. I want to get out and shoot a bit before it rains. Once it starts raining, I'm going to go move one of the stands on Whistler's Ridge to a new spot that will allow me to hunt there on a W wind.

Then I'll be all set for an all day hunt tomorrow, which is the current plan. I'm just waiting for things to crack open. Has to be starting soon.

My brother will be up this weekend for rifle opener. I really think there's a great chance that he puts down Buster! I'm anxious to see what has shown up of his cameras too. Especially that Moultrie panoramic one.

He and my dad will be out with their rifles. I'll be toting my Creed. Blood will be shed. Celebrations will be had.

You have any pics of Buster this year? Or any recents at all? Did they pull a Houdini again?

He's always been elusive once he sheds his velvet. But that has more to do with he core area. It overlaps with Blade, but he's definitely further to our SW. That's where my brother's stand is, and I usually try and stay out of there as much as I can.

I do expect that there will be picks of him on my brothers camera, and hopefully on the camera I just put out on the scrape that Chase & I found.

I don't know how anyone could have been out hunting on sunday, that wind was vicious. Went to Cabela's and the poor girlfriend almost gotten knocked over by a heavy gust. Sure would have been funny to see though :D

OK, here we go. Headed out in a bit hopefully for an all day sit. The forecasted W wind is more SW this am, I'm hoping it's closer to W than S. I'm going to bring my LW Assault just incase I need to shift spots midday.

I'm really digging the setup from yesterday. I just hope the deer cooperate with me today. Time will tell!

I love it when the first thing that greets me it the door is clear skies and Orion the Hunter:)

Made the short trip in the canoe across the bay. Then ditched my backup stand on the way in. Frosty and crunchy walking in.

I have some deer walking around me already. Pretty sure I heard one make a rub.

    ... Anxiously awaiting first light!

Either they snuck off or bedded to my S. I was actually able to put my coat on now, which us nice this am.

    Here's the view to my 8 o'clock.

Good day so far. Lots of chasing. One of the big boys is here! Saw his body and beam but not enough to ID. He's chasing a doe around, with a small 8 in pursuit.

Here's a clip of the small 8. My test bleat didn't work. Hope it does when The big boy comes through.

They seemed to have moved off for now. Not sure if it was a coincidence or not but I had just grunted when they all came in. The doe & other buck circled to my left out of range. But the smaller guy came right on by after that. They hung around behind me ( to the N) for a bit then seemingly moved off to the W.

Gets the blood & optimism flowing for sure!
