It's been raining off and on which I'm super* excited* about.

*denotes sarcasm to the highest level.

Quiet night, save for the wolves howling. They seem to be further to the NW now. Getting dark fast with the overcast skies.

Gonna get down and head in. I think a trip next door to hot tub is in order!

I opted for this over a moultrie viewer, people say the moultrie's don't like bushnell images??

I just want to make sure I got this right. This creates a wifi connectable signal, kind of like connecting Bluetooth only using wifi? Does it have replaceable batteries(comes with battery if so?)?

Seen in one of your posts you had said it creates a hot spot, so I thought it was a paid subscription for a 3/4G data signal or something so didn't give it much thought.

It's a wifi signal that is used kind like a bluetooth connection. It has a rechargeable internal battery that I recharge with my USB port or my USB phone charger. There is no need for a subscription, as it doesn't connect to the internet, but creates a WIFI network.

Not sure if that makes sense or not?

Yeah, when you had said hotspot I was thinking you were hunting in the boonies and used it as a source for your phone to connect to data but also allowed sharing of media or something.

Makes perfect sense, never heard of a wifi link being used in that way. Bluetooth was always the wireless connect method.

It might have to do with data transfer when streaming movies from it, or FAA regulations when using it on an airplane. I'm sure they have a reason, I'm just know smart enough to know why :busted:

OK, I'm just about out the door. I'm headed to the Moose Shed Cut to my south. This is where I got my doe last year and where I drew back on Lucky in the late season. I'm hoping to stay out all day, but it's going to get windy, so I may bag it early if it's nasty.

Here's what Lucky was last year.

Spent damn near 35 minutes trying to decide what tree to sit in. Hope this is the right one, case it was a bear to get set up.

    Here's the pay off

Pretty expansive view of the old cut. Closest thing I have to hunting a "field edge".

I feel a bit naked up here, but it should do. It'd be a great rifle stand if one was so inclined.

How would you classify your fitness level Fitz? The reason I ask, is that even in the best shape of my life two years ago, I would always sweat a lot on the way to my stand, usually a bit over a quarter mile.
I carry bow/quiver, a large Summit climber, a pack with all the essentials, and I normally have to carry in my top part of camo to keep the sweating down to a minimum. Still, by the time I am up the stand, I am drenched.

I'm in ok shape. Nothing special, that's for sure. I dress in layers and take an easy pace. Sometimes I'm in a hurry or behind my timetable, and that's when things get sweaty. I try and avoid it whenever possible though.

Damn this wind is blowing this tree all over! Don't think I'm going to last long here.

Well that's the first time I've ever gotten motion sick in a tree. I'm back in the Lodge now. I'm gonna update the Scorecard and then figure out if I'm going to sit somewhere tonight.

People in good shape have very active sweat glands. Sweat is a natural response to prevent overheating.

I layer a hodge podge of stuff. My main camo is my Gamehide Grid Lok pant & jacket. Love it! With varying layers I can hunt with it late into our season, though it doesn't cut the wind well.

So far this season the most I've had layerd is the following:

    UA lightweight base layer
old Scent Blocker top & bottom
    Gamehide HeliM fleece
    Grid Lok pant & coat.

Having said all that, I'm just about to pull the trigger on a heater body suit. Probably order one next week.
