The grouse are moving. And a noisy raven rooted nearby.

Well, there's some light chasing going on. Had a buck chase and grunt to my N. Few min later something blew up there (upwind so I'm not sure what at).

Around the same time I had at least two deer to my W.

Wind picked up a bit and was blowing the dew off the tree tops. Made it hard to hear what exactly was going on.

    Time to sneak out :ninja:

I think I just figured out what it was blowing at. A wolf just started howling real close to the N.

Here's the plan for tomorrow. I'm heading in to the same stand 0dark30. I'll sit there until mid morning, then I'll get down and hang a second stand that I'll bring some 50-60 yards to the W. There's always been action skirting me that way, so it's time to leapfrog. I'll sit there until dark.

Dad fhas the day off. He wasn't sure if he was going to go out right away or wait until 8ish. Sounds like he'll spend part of the day in his ladder up there. Then, maybe switch to the stand I'll be abandoning mid morning.

The game is afoot. The time to strike is now. Blood will be shed!

Coach! Good to see you on here :tu:

Is the little man up hunting this weekend, or just you old farts? If anything goes down, you'll get a text. Give those WI whitetails hell!

Got a txt from my dad. He was walking into his tripod stand, came across a basket 6 on the way in. He drew back and his peep was twisted.

    So close.

    Welcome back to Fitz's circus.

Dad decided to come to his ladder and have me look at his peep. Figured it's be a good time to get down and hang my other stand anyway.

So I meet up with him where our trials split, fix the peep. Then I head to hang the Lone Wolf further in from where I sat this am. Find the spot and get working on hanging the stand. Get to the bottom of the tree to grab my gear and see a txt from dad. Forgot his harness, so he went in for an early lunch.

I see the word harness, SOB, I forgot a tree strap for this stand! Text dad to grab me one while he's in.

Make my way back out to meet him, then back in. Just finished lunch in the tree and can finally start hunting again.

    Shesh... :throw:

Let's see what happens. FTR, I'm sitting about 5 yards from where I found my arrow tracking Whistler last year.
