Well, it would seem we have the ridge covered tonight. Team Larson & Team Fitz in full effect tonight!

The Larsons and I are in the same spots as last night and my dad is I. His ladder between us. If they wanna walk this ridge, they have to go by someone.

I can tell I've been running & gunning all weekend. Standing at the base of my tree to hung atop 5 sticks, tied in and bow hung.....

They are leaving late morning. One more sit. Depending on what forecast you look at, it's gonna be 12-17* in the morning! That'll wake you up.

This has been some of the weirdest weather tonight. Snow for 15 seconds like a banshee, then nothing. Then snow from the opposite side while the sun is shining. Calm for 5 minute. Then almost blown out if the tree. Dark as dusk, then light again. Old Man Winter is ornery tonight!

Back in and set up. Beautiful clear morning. We were greeted by Orion as we walked to the pontoon. N winds 3-5 and temps at 20*. The leaves are frosted and crunchy.

Now we wait for that wonderful sound. Crunch, crunch, crunch, crunch..... THWACK!!!! :ninja:

Beautiful morning up in the North Country....crisp 27 degrees here, 40% chance of snow, and the sunrise looking just like that. Sure wish I was in the stand!
    Good Luck Guys!!

So there's been a deer walking around in between Todd and us for the last 50 min. Not so patiently waiting ...

    It's a doe. She's at 38 yards right now.

Well the Larsons are packed up and on the road home to WI. What hasn't a great weekend! That doe joined two other deer that were spooked to us from something to our W. They all moved N and it was time to get down.

She did throw us for a loop though. Took her a hour & a half to come in, maybe a total distance of 100-125 yards. I thought it was going to be a buck with how slow she was coming. She'd walk 5-10 yards then stand and look for 5 min. then move, then look. Drove me crazy!

The buck activity hasn't broken loose quite yet, but they're on the cusp. Not sure of my plan yet for tonight, but I know I'd like to sit all day in the outlet tomorrow. Hopefully I'll be able to make it to my little parking spot without hitting ice. If not, I'll either have to break some, or pull off early and walk the remaining distance.

I would take my time on the scorecard too, if I knew I was getting knocked out of the "number 1" spot. :tu:

So my plans kind of fell apart. I got caught up doing chores yesterday afternoon, so I didn't sit out. No big deal. But my all day sit planned for today was shattered with the killer headache I got last night. Couldn't get to sleep. I decided to turn my alarm off.

Might have worked out for the best. Temps this AM dipped to 14*. The little bay next to the lodge has a thin sheet of ice on it, so I would assume that the outlet (when I'll be hunting) does as well. My plan is to finish up a load of laundry and head out late morning. It'll be easier in the light to trim a trail to the end of the outlet if the ice is still there. Then I can hunt there tomorrow too. It shouldn't be as cold tomorrow AM, and the temps warm back up later into the week.

Halloween looks wet & cold. I'll have to see how hard it's coming down. Could be the first Halloween in years that I don't hunt.
