That's great. I checked out the site and it looks like lots of configurations to adapt to your hunting style. I hunt about 90 percent from the ground so that's awesome. Some mounts would rule out filming from the ground blind, etc. Thanks for the info and great thread to follow.

I have a nice gentle 3-5 mph wind out of the SSE. It's perfect to carry my stank up into the pond behind me.

It's really opened up in here since I sat last. I don't have a shot but I can see if anything tries to sneak behind me now.

Leaves are dry now, but it's supposed to rain later. I'm hoping to hear the wonderful crunch, crunch well before they wander I to my lanes.

It's pretty light. If it wasn't for the reflection of the water, I might not even have noticed.

So far the squirrels still sound like wildebeests in the leaves. I have the splashing in the creek to help too :tu:

Surprised I'm finding a bunch of skeeters here. It was 27 this AM.

Just the one set of Blade from 9-22 . I haven't checked my cam on Whistler's Ridge in a while though. I'm hoping he's been there. I might sit there tomorrow night if everything works out. I just need to get through this weekend at the resort, then my time in the woods will drastically increase!

Alright, I need to get out for a sit this afternoon, so here's the plan.

I'm going to hunt the swamp island I briefly scouted a week or so ago. I had a straight W wind with the occasional WNW to it. I'll pack my bow and a couple climbing sticks in my canoe, then pick up my LW that's hanging 5' high in the creek, on the way.

Here's what the island looks like from above.

Here, the Red is my path of travel, and the yellow is known deer trails. After ditching my canoe to the S and grabbing my stand, I'll be using a second canoe that I have stashed on the other side of the outlet. Then I'll paddle right to the islands E edge. I'll have to be a :ninja: because there isn't much cover there in the crooked jackpines on the island.

Here's a closer shot. The island is about 20 yards across E toW and almost 30 N to S. Directly W of the island there is a finger of tag & young tamaracks that lead to the woodline. I want to be able to reach that edge from the stand.

I might bring out one of my cameras to hand and leave there. I'm excited for a run & gun set. It's been a while. Hoping to head out around 1:00ish so I can take my time and be extra quiet.

This will also be the maiden voyage of my new iPhone. I hope to get some nicer pics and video with it :tu:

I forgot to mention that I did get out two days ago to set up a mock scrape up on Whistler's Ridge. I also made my first horizontal rub. I have a cam set to video that is angled to cover both. I'm interested to see if I get any action there over the next month.

Just had to go put new batteries in my Stealth Cam. Decided to try out the new slowmo cam on the phone. I'm using an xshot pole. The upload quality wasn't great since I did it from the woods, but I'm digging the upgraded camera.

    Here's a taste:
