I put in for a tag. I fall somewhere in the middle with the wolves. I absolutely love having them around, but I know that our area has a sustainable population that can handle responsible management.

I'd like to try and stick one. I put in for the late hunting season. If I get one, I will most likely never hunt them again.

I enjoy conversing with both sides of the debate.

The whole head moves with the dial. All 3 pins, the ring, the vertical & horizontal adjustment. It all moves as one unit.

Alright, the first of my deliveries came yesterday :nana:

Blind, chair, replacement spot, bowhangers, & heavy duty blind stakes.

If all goes well, I'm going to head out & set up the blind atop the Doe Bleat Lodge this afternoon. Might as well check cameras while I'm there :ninja:

Looking good, Fitz!! Looks like you're good to go! Have you figured out what stand you will be in on opener? Any great pictures to share?

Not sure on opener yet. I want to wait for a accurate wind report. right now they are saying S, and that blows.

Didn't get out yesterday, so today is the day to set up the blind, and put up another stand or two. Looks like rain for the next 3 days, which helps!

I'll let y'all know if I get anything good on the card pul :tu:

Cameras were quiet once again. Does & more does. I pulled one camera and moved another. That's most likely the last card pull before the season starts.

I was able to get some work done though.

Set up my LW Elite along the snowshoe trail where I shot Whistler at last Nov. It's also where I last got Blade on the Stealth Cam.

    Here's the view:

FYI, tent stakes don't work worth a damn on a lodge, but there are plenty of solid sticks to tie down to!

    That looks nice.

Where are you going to stash the canoe when you hunt that?

Most-likely about 300 yards away, along the shore of the lake. I could paddle all the way, but the process of crossing 3 beaver dams would be quite noisy. Especially with gear in the canoe.

Cool. I couldn't tell how deep the water is and wasn't sure if you had to paddle right up to it or not. I am looking forward to reading about the first hunt in the spot. It's a great idea.

The water leading to the nearest shore only gets about calf deep. Plus I could jump it if need be. Still thinking about bringing a length of 2x10" down to use as a bridge, but I'm not sure I'll need to.

Looking good Fitz. If you want to brush it in; PVC pipe painted a suitable color and cut at a 45 degree bias would make a handy holders for some spruce branches.

Thanks for the tip. The blind actually has a bunch of loops & straps to attach stuff with. I figured between the shape of the lodge and the fact it's going to sit there for a month or so, I wasn't going to really worry about brushing it in.

We'll see how they react to it I guess.

Well, tomorrow morning the fun begins! :nana:

I'm so excited for the sun to rise on another season of chasing whitetail. My good friend Nick will be getting here late tonight and we'll be hunting together through Wednesday afternoon.

The wind forecast has shifted favorably from S to SW turning WSW. Looks like opener will be spent on the Killing Pond. With two stands and the blind, I'm not sure how exactly we'll set up, but I think I may sit in the blind, just because :ninja:

All my camo is washed. Broadheads are sharpened. Gear is laid out. I'm ready to kick this season off right!
