Thanks everyone! Happy to have a doe for the freezer. Now my concentration will shift to bucks!

We're going to head out in the morning for a quick hunt back in the outlet. AugustIce has to head home late morning or early afternoon. Slight chance of showers overnight, but I'm hoping it's stopped by the time we get up.

Just getting ready to head out. It's a lot warmer this AM, 50* already, but the high is only 52*. What a difference from opener that was 30* in the AM and hit 72* in the afternoon!

Thought I'd share these photos of us in our stands. We took them opening morning before we headed in for lunch :tu:

    Here's augustice in his stand:

And me in mine (I'm aiming at a point only 5 yards from where I'd later shoot that doe):

I've found it interesting to see what it actually looks like when I'm up in the tree...

Later into the stand than I'd like. I'm an idiot, and planed on sunrise time, not 1/2 hr before :bash:

It's all good. We were still set up in time for 1st shooting light. The birds have been really active thus far, and we have a beaver swimming around between us.

Gonna be a shorter sit this AM so augustIce can hit the road.

Congrats on the doe. Good to see that you saw plenty of deer the first day. Watching the video, it looks like you're a lot higher than 20'. Now the quest for Blade begins! Good Luck!

Nothing again this morning. It was a little more active with other critters. Saw beavers, kingfisher, grouse, wrens, and fox sparrows. Not sure when I'll be getting out next. I'd like to once or twice before this weekend. Sara is going to be gone, so I'll be solo at the resort and probably won't get out.

Hang in there man, I have much more confidence in your success than I have in mine.
I know I'd do better if I were not spending my mornings in foot/hoof races with moose.

Well, before augustice left today, I remembered that I hadn't check my camera across the lake. So we zipped over and swapped cards.

Glad I did! Got a great sequence of Blade sans-velvet
