Nothing else of interest. It was actually fairly mild out, even with the wind. Even warmed up a couple degrees before I got down. 22 never felt so good :tu:

Seems like you're really starting to get the deer in your area figured out! Hope you punch your tag on one of those too bucks, but now with all the gun seasons behind you I cant help but think of what they'd be next year. Should be fun the next few days, best of luck!

Ok, I'm back in the stand I moved the other night. Looks like there's been some action in the area. Some decent sized prints crisscrossed my trail the whole way in, leading right to a fresh rub in front of my stand.

These tracks were definitely from a barrel chested buck. The stride was a good 9 or 10" wide.

My camera filled its card, but not in a good way. Spooled photos from when I set it to the following am. 2200 pics, mostlikely of nothing. I'm gonna wait to sift through them when I get back.

Too bad, looks like the track walked right in front of it too.

Squirrels and birds are active already. Time to sit back and enjoy!

Really got quiet the last 30 min or so. Squirrels and chickadees have moved off. The breeze has been fairly light. When it does blow, it's from the NNE.

Hoping to get a little excitement here before we're leave for the weekend.

Well, time to get out for a couple hours. Headed back to the cut. Going to go in extra slow and careful, in case my 9pt friend is there again :tu:

    Off to clean up!

Good sign on the way in. Number of fresh tracks, including some bigger sets.

No action on the walk like last time, but that same 9 or 10 was on the cam from mid-day last Friday.

Already had something walk into the swamp from the W. Seemed to stop so I think it might be bedded on the opposite side.

Trees are beautiful with their coating of snow and frost. Here's my 9 again...

And back up the ridge to my 3...

19 and calm winds with the occasional flurry.

Should be a short, but pleasant sit.

I should also note there's a pretty good crunch in the snow. They shouldn't sneak up on me :tu:
