Ok, I'm in & up. Pretty calm this am. Winds are barely measurable out of the SSE.

Both last night and tonight I'm in my first stand location on this ridge.

Planing to get down around 10 so I can still hit the road around noon or so. Lets see if we can squeak one out :tu:

Am I the only one who's stomach drops as if a buck is walking into bow range when I see this? fitz.JPG
Everytime I see this I am hoping to read "BLADE'S DOWN!". Have fun on your trip! Good luck this AM!

I do. Hoping so much he gets this deer. Just would be an awesome story and he deserves. He works his a$$ off is those big woods.

Good Luck Fitz...hoping in the next hour we see a post that you have either Blade or Whistler on the ground! Then your trip to WI will really be delayed...but for good reason!!

Getting to be about that time. Had a deer walk along the second ridge. Couldn't get a good look at the head, but it had a huge neck.

Otherwise it's been pretty quiet. Gotta re-pack and do a little cleaning before I hit the road.

I'll still post occasionally from the cabin. I just hope this is where these boys like to hang for the late season. Then I can take it down to the wire!

Unpacked, feet up, and feeling good!

I did stop buy and shoot some bows. Pretty damn nice! I shot the Creed, ZXT, and the Chill. I have to say the Chill surprised me. I didn't think I'd like it so much.

The Creed is awesome. I'm actually contemplating selling my Drenalin and getting one. I thinks that's where my Christmas cash will be going :tu:

Ahhh the downside to having trail cams. I fight that battle all the time. could've, would've should've. When in doubt, just go out! Think I'll trademark that.

OK, I got home tonight after the long WI rifle season. Got a yearling doe 10 minutes into shooting light on opening day. Only saw one more deer the whole season! What a bust.

My brother shot a nice 8pt on opener and that was it for the 6 of us. Pretty slim pickens this year. I love hunting at our cabin with the family, but I will say that I wasn't nearly as bummed for the season to end this year as I have in the past. I was anxious to come home and check cameras :tu:

Well wouldn't you know it, guess who was walking around Friday night?

This is great news! Blade is still around and has officially survived the rifle season up here. This also shows that Whistler is the buck I hit on the 7th.

We currently have about 8" of snow on the ground and as far as I can tell in the dark, the lake is iced over. I'll check the depth tomorrow. I'll also rehang a couple stand up on the ridge that the boys are hanging out on. Lots of tracks in the snow. Time to stock up on hand/foot warmers and hot apple cider.

    The Game is still afoot!
