Well, I decided to bag this morning's hunt. The wind was SW, which sucks for where I wanna be. In hind site, it's probably a good thing I didn't go out though. My dad & I moved the big cast iron stove into place this weekend. In the process I tweaked the crap out of my lower back. Been trying to take it easy the last few days since I have 8 days of all-day-sits coming up!

Soaked in the hot tub twice yesterday and actually got a good night of sleep lastnight. I'm still pretty stiff but it's not nearly as painful as it has been.

So, I'll be the 26th or 27th before I'm back hunting Blade & Whistler. Rifle season ends here in MN on the 18th, so Hopefully they'll make it through. I usually bring my cameras with me to WI, but this year I'm leaving them here in hope of catching one of the boys while I'm gone.

Today I'll be packing up my stuff in preperation for tomorrow's morning departure. I do have to go pull 2 of my stands to bring down. While I'm out doing that, I'll pull my cards one more time to see what's on them.

On my way down tomorrow, I'm going to stop by my old shop in Duluth and shoot the Craze & ZXT to see how they are. So far I haven't liked anything as much as I like my Drenalin, or at least not enough to want to replace it.

    Had an interesting day today.

Got up and pulled the last dock out of the lake. Then packed up all my gear for tomorrow's departure. I still had to go pull my 2 stands and check the trail cams.

I first went south to the old cut. To s of tracks on the way in. Pulled my LW Elite and on my way out, I jumped the 8 pt that my buddy Nick was close to shooting.

Get back to the truck and drive all the way up to the neighbor's barn. Step out if the truck and hear branches break. I then watch a fork chase a doe by me at 20 yards. 30 seconds later, he chases her back, this time at 10 yards!

I'm thinking, 'oh great, hot doe on the ridge, should've sat out this am.'

Stop by my dads camera and grab the card. Throw it I. My reader on my way to my first cam. ****!!

Blade was standing in front if the camera 15 min before I pulled the card.

Still not sure if I shot him or Whistler, but its good to see him alive and well!

Pull my cards to see he chased a doe right through one of my shooting lanes this am at 9:40. Damn I should have sat out this am!

So, I sat out tonight. That's right. Unpacked all my clothes, re- hung my stand and sat til dark. Gonna sit out in the am before I go too!

4:15 that little fork chased his doe through my area. That was it, but solidified my new plan.

I'll get a later start on the road, but it will drive me nuts if I don't try!

The joy of bowhunting. All the "what if's" and "should haves" a man can dream of. Good man Fitz! I'm hoping you can be in your stand around the same time Blade came through today..

Awesome! I'm guessing the one you shot was hit on the deers left side?

I have to say, I would do the same thing having seen all of that. Would have been a long drive to WI going over all the what-ifs and should I haves.

Good luck in the AM and in WI, know you said Internet was nonexistent there.
