Nice Fitz, hope you find her, and have fun with the drag, probably as much fun as I had last year dragging one out up hill for over a mile.
Update: My plan worked.... sorta. Another doe did come in, but augustice's arrow was deflected away. He was able to shoot again and in all the commotion, we were unsure of the result. She ran away about 60 yards into the swamp and blew for 5 minutes or so. After reviewing some crappy video from my point and shoot, I believe they were clean misses. But, to be on the safe side, I'm electing to wait until morning to get my doe. We'll go check for more sign for his doe first, then if my suspicions are confirmed, we'll take up the trail on my doe. I wish I could have gotten her tonight, but I just didn't want to risk it if his was wounded. Follow-up and daytime pics in the morning! Time for some sleep now! What an opening day! We saw 8 deer in total today. That's just unheard of for me. I saw 11 in my 29 hunts last year! Hope it's a sign of things to come
