More bad news. Our car just broke down on Sara. Just outside of Duluth (2hrs away). Got a tow truck taking her to the dealer we got it from. From the description of what happened, doesn't sound good to me. More time and $$ is about to be flushed...

I hate car trouble! what are the symptoms? I work on vehicles as a hobby. Maybe they could give her a loaner so she can still get down there for the weekend?

OK, I’ve just gotta say it, even though it’s been said many times before. BEST THREAD EVER! Every day, at least once, I think to myself, “I wonder what ol’ Fitz has been up to?” In my opinion it’s the best drama/reality show/hunting show/sporting event going on the internet.

BTW that’s some beautiful country you got up there Fitz. We did a week of canoeing/camping in the Canadian Boundary Waters back when I was a kid. The outfitter we used was just north of Ely if I recall correctly. Fun stuff.
Good luck with the car, and the bucks!

    Bummer! Sorry to hear that!
If I were up at the cabin, I could have buzzed right over to pick her up!

Gotta love the thick neck on those northern hogs...too bad he didn't give a little better view of the headgear.

Hope the car trouble isn't too serious, never hits at a good time

We're in and set up. Dad is in his ladder just to our N with his rifle. My brother is across the lake with his rifle. Nick and I are next to each other with our bows.

I heard the neighbor to the north ride his wheeler to his stand.

Let's see if we can't pull this off! Between the 4 of us, one of those big boys is going down.

Nick will shoot a doe or legal buck if it comes by.

Let's get it done! I'll be a rifle hunting tag along today. Playing good husband and trying to get my wife her first buck!

Came in for lunch. Had a buck chase a doe across the far ridge a couple times. Also, on the way in my dad had a deer between him and his stand. He stayed put and snuck his way over the first hour of daylight. He was able to make out that it was a buck and it was limping, but nothing more. It walked off but not in our direction.

Back in the stand. Pretty quiet right now. Report from dad is we didn't miss much.
