Back in the stand nice & early today. The good news is, at 34* we're 20* warmer than yesterday AM. The bad news is its raining me.

It's pretty light and I don't think it'll last. Won't be able to hear them coming like yesterday, that's for sure.

Just sitting for the AM. I have to get down by 10:30 at the latest.

Good luck Fitz. Honestly, on my drive into work, seemed like a dead morning. I didn't see one deer. And that is rare where I live a drive. I hope it's better where you are!

Yup. Nothing so far. Windy too, I'm freezing. Between that and the ravens I'm gonna call it early. They want to get on that doe's gut pile, but they are too wussy to do it with me nearby. So, they are all perched surrounding me raising hell.

I think I'll sneak down and look for my arrow quick. Then that can have the rest of the day to clean up the pile.

I'm surprised the gut pile made it through the night! FYI, not to sway your decision because I know how it is. I saw 15 deer after I shot my buck on Sunday morn. This woulda been at or after 10am!! I do think I bumped 10 of them out of bedding when I was gutting my deer though.

I had to get down by 10 or so anyway. Tomorrow looks better anyway. Calm & crisp again. Should be good after this windy day.

It'll probably be a short one too. My one friend that's coming up tonight, doesn't hunt. And since Nick and I will hunt much of the weekend, I'll keep I quick so we can hang out.

Though, tomorrow is the last day before rifle season. I'm nervous for the big boys. Out neighbor to the north and his boys hunt. Hope they smell bad

I did find my arrow. It's in good shape. Just need to resharpen the blades and clean it up a bit. It might get another go at Whistler yet!

That is a nice feeling when you find the arrow. Not that you missed, but that you KNOW you missed now. and it's a fresh start. Good luck tomorrow!

So I just crept in to my stand. I was extra careful to take my time and be quiet. And I'm glad I did. There were at least 3 wolves on the guy pile. I managed to get up my tree and settled without them spooking. I coul hear them eating!

They've been milling around down there for the last 15 min, and just moved off.

Very cool to have walked that close (35 yards) with out them catching on.

Pulled my card in my way in too. I think this might be the 8 that chased under my stand the other morning.

    Today's fun fact:

On this date in 2010, I saw Blade for the first and only time on the hoof.

How about a second look buddy?!?!

    Bonus fun fact:

Hand warmers do not keep your hands warm if they are left on the end table.

That Fun Fact is duly noted! Don't you hate forgetting something so simple yet can make your day all the better. Hope it's a short sit so you won't need em. I think it's crazy that you can get that close to the wolves without spooking em! Blade/Whistler's gotta show up eventually. Today be a good day for that! Good Luck! :tu:
