    Alight, I'm in and up. My canoe "shortcut" almost backfired. There was a skim of ice in the back bay. Luckily, there was a strip of open water along the W edge right to the dock. Breaking ice with a canoe is not a quiet affair.

    Frost one this am with temps in the teens. Crunchy forest floor conditions, which is fine by me now that I'm up here. Should here them coming for days.

    Trick or treat time... I'm hoping for a treat! :evilgrin:

    I think deer are moving in to bed on the ridge. Heard at least two so far. One went just north of me, I thought I was going to get a peak.

    Just had a nice 8 pt chase a doe within 8 yards of my stand! Not sure if I would have shot, but sure got the blood flowing!
