Fitz's 2012 Season Journal Thread *semi-live*

9 bucks total, but only 3 in Ely and only one of those with a bow. I've been Bowhunting since 2007, but only hunted 3 days that bow season. Count Chocula is the only bow buck, save the button I mistook for a doe.

Not the best record, but the Count set a standard

 

Yeah thats a giant 8 pt anywhere bud and the fact that it was with a bow and in your area...wow! I get frustrated when I only see doe and small bucks for weeks but heck I see deer almost every sit. Idk how you do it man but its so much fun to follow along!

 

Well, I was happy to awake to good news from the south. My brother did connect on that buck He even got a trail cam picture 10 seconds before he shot it....





I don't have much for details on the recovery, but I'm sure he'll enjoy sleeping in this AM

 

Now I'm off to finish getting ready and pack some lunch for the stand! 27* this AM with a high of only 32*. Cool but good sit ahead. The peices are in place.... your move Blade

Good Luck Fitz! I won't have to watch while sitting by the laptop today, as it is 34* here and I am also heading out. Your Bro's buck looks good, but he is no Blade!

Depends on how long you've been gone? Haven't seen Blade though. Did see a wolf last night at 20 yards

 

Awh shucks for not seeing Blade. Any trail cam pics of him since the season opened? His neck and brain should be swelling here pretty soon.

 

Back in the stand. I decided to call this one the Dam Cam Stand, since its between the two.

Light but seemingly consistent breeze this AM. I'd guess about 3-5 gonna pick up to 7-8. Hope that holds true.

Rights as I was unpacking the canoe I heard a tree come down a ways off. Sure makes a lot of noise in the still morning air! The ground is nearly frozen and crunchy, so if the wind isn't too loud I should have good ears today.

I'm not gonna pull my cameras card unless I get restless or cold this afternoon.

Last Pic and video was on the 1st of Oct. he looks pretty damn healthy. I have a cam south that I want to check sometime sun or mon. It's near a bunch of rubs and a scrape I found.

 

headed out the door right now myself...cold here at 25deg...shooting hrs 10 minutes before you Fitz. One more try at the supposed big 10pt in town(still no sign or sightings of him myself but restricted to 10 acres all I can hope for is a cruise through and grunt to range).
