Quitting time snuck up on me with all the snowcover. Time to get down and freeze on the way back!

OK, I obviously decided to bag this AM's hunt, and I'm kinda glad I did. 18 mph winds with gusts of 30. If I had gotten up early, I would have gone back to bed anyway.

Well... I've hatched a new plan. With the rollers & whitecaps out there I'm leaving the canoe at home, but I'll use Dad's Lund :tu:

Go to stand A and pull it down. It's my LW Elite. Proceed to stand B take it down and put it at site D. Sit for the night at D. Then, next time I head to C, I'll bring the Elite and swap it out for my Assault so I can use that in other locations. This will leave me with two stands up and ready to go (D & C) that I'll actually sit in (A & B are no longer to my liking). All the other red dots are stands or camera sites that I'l like to be able to be mobile on.

So.... with the strong wind as my cover I'm off to make this happen! If time allows, I'll pull my brother's forgotten stand too.

Bucks are moving across the midwest and I hate making such a drastic change late in the season, but I've got a feeling.....

I hate moving them too. Almost as much as I hate having them in spots I don't want to hunt :tu:

All packed up, time to go steal a boat

Outlet stand down. Quicker that I thought, but swapping the next stand is going to be the slow part.

I love the outlet, but probably won't hunt it much until Blade is dead.

Alright, all the dirty business is done. I haven't pulled my brother's stand, but will mostlikely tomorrow.

All set up, changed an even pulled my card. Haven't looked at it yet.

So, here's the view to my 3 o'clock.

I've never hunted this close to my cam before. 20 yds to Blade's favorite studio.

Ok, two bucks on cam. A 1 1/2 yo and one that I can't see well, could be Blade. Both were in the middle of the night.

It's cold out today. Now that I'm sitting, the wind is nasty.

Just had wolf come from the west. Came within 20 yds and should have gotten it on cam. I'll clear the card I took today, and swap it again in the AM.

    Man they're fast & quiet!

Hoping you are quiet because you dripped your phone in a pool of blades blood trying to take a picture of it...

I really like that spot. Great cover and view. I really feel like all the pieces are falling into place. Wind drops off dramatically tomorrow, so I'm planning an all day sit in that stand. The W wind isn't ideal for the ridge stand, so I'll stick with this one. Cold temps and some sunshine. I can't wait!

The only hiccup in my plan is that my brother just stuck a big buck in WI. At the shot he wasn't sure of the hit, though he may have missed low. But he found good blood on the arrow and blood in the direction he ran. He backed out and is waiting for my cousin to get there in a couple hours and they'll go look.

    So, We'll see what happens!

I figured not but I can dream! Its krazy how bad myself and others on here want you to get him! I gotta ask you, how many bucks have you taken over the years? Whats your avg, like every other year or every year or what? Just knowing you have killed a buck once in your life gives me all the respect for you, because you must hunt one of the most challenging places in the country!
