what is you rattling sequence like and have you had luck with it in the past?

 

Well, that could have gone better. Lone flag in the swamp busted me rattling. Wasn't having it. Didn't blow or bound, just flagged as it slipped away.

Damn.

 

Lack of. I have three. Two I keep up all season, and my Lone Wolf Assassin I pop around in. I could have 20 stands and still move around

 

Dang...sit tight for a few...you might get a curious straggler.

 

I basically do a light round o about 15-20 seconds this time of year. Waiting at least 10-15 minutes before trying again.

I've only rattled in a buck to shooting range once. I was enough to make me keep trying. That buck never stopped for a shot though.

 

The deer that spooked could have been one of the does from my trip in. Didn't see a second flag though.

 

yeah...I've never rattled anything in. I actually despise blind calling for the exact reason you are mentioning here. We just can't see all the deer around us all the time. I will admit it has worked with the grunt tube a couple times, but I shy away for the most part.

 

I can hear something still down in the swamp... interesting.

 

Not sure what your tag situation is, are you buck only hunting or whacking a doe if opportunity knocks?

I only have a buck tag. You can party hunt in MN, so later in the season if my dad hasn't had any luck, I may shoot him a doe.

 

So here's an idea I was just thinking of...

I want a treestand, just like my Lone Wolf, only with the seat at near bar stool height. That way, when I go from standing to sitting, there isn't some much damn movement.

ive also kicked around the idea of a stand with a tall seat feature. i wonder if someone could modify a platform to recieve one of those bassboat seats that drop into a hole in the deck....

 

I took my seat off one of my lone wolf and took the adjustable/removable seat from my lone wolf climber. ( dont like them anymore) so now I can adjust it at any height
