That reminds me...I bought an insane archery mount last year from Youngfart but have yet to use it. I might have to break it out here soon.

 

Fitz, based on what I've read it sounds like you've got a real good chance at blade this year. He's done nothing but grow by the looks of it, too. So good luck this season. Can't wait to see the BBD thread.

 

25-30 mph winds yesterday & today. I'm going to let it die down a bit before I head out again. Currently light flurries in the sky, but we didn't get the 1-2" they were forecasting.

My motor is toast. Found out the local shop doen't work on trolling motors and would have to send it out. By the time I pay for shipping and to have someone open the box, I might as well have gotten a new one....

... so I did Only I upped the size from 30# of thrust to 40#. Should cut my commute down even more. Plus I might be able to do some tubing or skiing

Down side is that put a good sized hole in my hunting budget. Looks like other things will have to wait!

The snow from this AM is gone. I'm on my way across, with a planned pit stop to grab my dad's camera in the outlet.

Gonna sit outside blade's bedroom again. Last decent wind over the next few days.

I'm gonna swap cards in both my cams on the way in too.

Bumped a lone deer on my way to the far cam. It was bedded up on a ridge N of the trail. Headed ENE from what I could tell. Right back towards the bedding area I'm set up for.

Not sure if its good or bad news... Just news I guess.

One video of a fox from the close cams. Does, a wolf and an yet unidentified K9 on the far cam.

 

Almost all the leaves in the understory have dropped now. A few aspens are holding tight above.

You can definitely see better now.

What are those trails for? Looks like more than a game trail.

 

That's an access trail we use to get to a state snowmobile trail. Only I haven't cleared fallen trees of it for two years

 

i keep checking this for a, "blade is down post", way to build suspense fitz.

 

Well, I shot...

... At a grouse and missed. A big male strutting around with 5 or 6 hens. Fun to watch. Bummed I missed. I'll have to look in the daylight for my arrow.

Still deerless since opener. It's driving me nuts!!

 

This new trolling motor is awesome by the way!

 

Ok, finally got a good wind. Been working on a river rock wall for a stove installation in the Lodge, so I've been keeping busy.

Gonna shower up and make the crossing. Winds are a bit strong, gusting to 25mph, but they should easy as the night progresses. It's all good once I'm up in the stand
