Starting to calm down a bit. The birds are going bonkers, I hope that's a sign :tu:

Nada. Beautiful night though. Time to try a different tree. I'll have to look at the forecast an see when I'll head out next.

Looks like an impromptu hunt this evening. Dad's dipping out of work early and is headed to his stand across the lake. Figured he could be my chauffeur. :tu:

I'm gonna sit in a new spot between the beaverdams and where I think Blade is bedding. We'll see what happens. Time for an amphibious assault!

I'm pretty close to the lake this sit. I have another spot 50 yards in, but that one might be a little thick yet to see much. Though, this one isn't a whole lot better!

Beautifully calm night. Drizzled a few times, but other than that it was nice. A lot of bird activity and I could hear the beavers all night since one of their lodges is about 60 yds from the stand. A couple grouse roosting had me fooled for a bit. No sign of deer tonight. I really like that tree for being a birch.

I forgot to mention that I put my other trail cam out yesterday. I knew the area I wanted it in, and had it narrowed down to two specific spots. As I walked up to the first spot, I noticed two small fresh scrapes.

... I didn't even look at the second spot :tu:

Can't wait to check it next week!

I wish we had some grouse where I hunt, I'd be flinging arrows left and right. Best eating bird I've ever had.
Just curious Fitz, do you carry a sidearm out there?
