I'm thinking about starting a fishing tourny on my lake. A catch and release type thing for fundraising to pay for walleyes to get stocked. Anyone have tips or ideas to help? How do you do a strictly catch and release tournament? I'm thinking of giving out like a green card that they have to put by their fish as they take a picture measuring it? How do you determine the overall winner if there is multiple species? Is there a way you can make it eligible for bow fishers since we would like as many carp out as possible? How do you pick a day and get the word out so people show up? What is an acceptable % of gross to spend on prizes? This is a small lake so I don't know how well it will take off... We have numerous friends that I'm thinking would do it regardless but With only them it wouldn't be much of a fundraiser Thanks ahead for the input! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
you would just have whats we used to call "paper" tournaments when I used to fish bass tourneys. Basically you measure every fish you catch and total the five biggest up. We mostly did them in my club so everyone more or less we trusted and big money wasn't on the line. I have fished some though where people got polaroid cameras and took a picture of the fish on the ruler to keep people honest. OR you could draw partners so that guys would keep each others honest.
