Yep that’s gonna rip your ass around, watch them turns hahaha. Those battery’s are legit I had a buddy refer them to me, the Bluetooth is a nice feature also. He fishes a lot of big water for walleyes and the battery’s are excellent.

So the trolling motor arrived yesterday. I’m itching to get it installed but it rained from the time it arrived yesterday until an hour ago.

I’ll start tomorrow. The battery and a few other odds and ends I need are supposed to arrive tomorrow so I’m looking forward to getting up in the morning.

Like I said, putting this TM on a 2006
Tracker is like putting a chandelier in an outhouse. The motor and battery are worth about 1/2 the boat’s value but it’s a good boat.

I’m not going to put the new battery in the back compartment with the fuel tank. I’m still leery of lithium batteries so I’m going to install it in the center storage compartment/rod locker in front of the cockpit area. One benefit of this is that I won’t have to run new wires the length of the boat. Yes, I have a 60 amp breaker coming also.

In the unlikely event that it did catch fire, at least the battery wouldn’t ignite the fuel tank and explode, affording me the chance to “abandon ship”.

Call me paranoid, but I’m also going to order a small fire extinguisher for class
    “D” fires. Just in case.

Hmmm. I wonder how we caught fish before all this electronic stuff.

I have grown tired of it, just like people are constantly on their phones while sitting on a deer stand, people ice fishing staring at a screen, people out on the water in a boat on a beautiful day staring at a screen.

Had a discussion this morning with a life long friend since 5th grade and we got in a hockey fight at practice. I am a crip he is a blood and neither of us agree with all the policies of our gangs, we need a 3rd party of moderates. Funny we still argue about who won the hockey fight but I still had my helmet on he didn't.

Dad's depth finder was an anchor rope or paddle.

I definitely remember those days and I caught bass like crazy back then.
I refuse to get the forward facing sonar, but I’ll take spot lock and auto navigation for trolling any day.

Didn’t manage to finish the install today. I tried but fell short.

This is a big-azz battery. I had no idea.

There goes my cooler compartment. I wanted to put it in the center compartment but it was way too snug and while it doesn’t need the ventilation a lead acid battery does I wanted it to have some breathing room.

I have browsed through the electronics and trolling motors at Bass Pro. Two of those items cost more than my first bass boat at $4300 in 1983. Not 1883!

Yup. Like I said, just those two items along with the minor electrical equipment I had to buy is most likely worth over half of what my boat is worth.

I saved the old motor and the old wires are still there. If I ever get rid of this boat new trolling motor and the big lithium battery are coming with me.

My boat is the single most expensive thing I've ever purchased in my life next to my house. They can bury me in that thing because I'm never getting rid of it.

    I wish I could say that. I'm still driving a 2006 Tracker 175TX.

What boat do you have Justin? Any pics?

How do people get by with just 1 boat? It is like golfing with 1 club.

I picked up a 2022 Lund Impact XS 1775 with a 115 Pro XS in the summer of 2023. A friend of my stepdad bought it when he retired, took it out 2 or 3 times, and decided it wasn't for him. It had less than 20 hours on the motor when I got it. Sad to say I don't have any good pics of it but I'll get some the next time I go out.

Prior to that I had a Tracker Pro-Guide V-16 SC with a 75 hp Merc on it. That was my first "real" boat and it was great, but I wanted something a little bigger with better seating for the family that we could tube/ski behind more easily.

The Impact fits that bill perfectly. Having the extra storage, jump seats, ski pylon, and full windshield makes it so much nicer. And I don't feel underpowered if I want to get up to Sturgeon Bay and tool around a couple times a year.

I looked it up. Very nice boat!

It wouldn’t work for me though. When I’m fishing I spend a lot of time in 4 foot deep water and stumps.

I’d love to have a big, fancy fiberglass boat but I would destroy it.

Now, I have been eyeing the latest Ranger Aluminum bass boats. They are nice.

Stumps are never good, but I spend a fair amount of time in 2-4 feet and don't have an issue so long as I remember to trim the motor up.

Been doing a lot of fishing this spring/summer. Haven’t been able to get up to our place in Wisconsin as much as I’d like, but have been out a few times a week around the house. We are heading up to Wisconsin though on Friday for 9 days and can’t wait.

Here’s a few of the better ones so far this year.

Why does a battery need Bluetooth?
