Decided to finally fix my pedestal base on my boat this week. Gawd.. now I know why the guys at the shop said they didn't have the equipment to fix it. I'm 200 dollars into materials and tools but it's getting closer. This is the mess I got into.

And here is what I came up with so far. Support for pedistal.

New anchor point for the base.

Hope to have it ready for the lake this weekend!

Took my oldest for a father-son camping and fishing trip this weekend. We tried a new lake and had a great time. The heat made the fishing slow, but we both managed to catch a couple of nice bass Friday evening. His was 5lbs and 23” long. Mine was 4.5lbs and 22” inches long. He lost a bigger bass on Saturday that broke his line.

IDK I went on the e-bay and bought light weight forward, I am far from anything considered a fly fisherman, I just heave a bumble bee out there. I can not crack a whip but if I throw a 5$ fly on I can crack that whip and destroy a fly in no time.

Up at our cabin in Minnesota with the family to celebrate treason day. Caught some good ones. My son can now bait, cast, catch and take the fish off his hook all by himself at 5. Pretty proud.

Got up North for a long holiday weekend and managed to sneak out with the boys a few times. My little guy is going to end up being a better fisherman than his older brother, I can tell already. Kid has a natural knack for it. In 3 trips out we caught rock bass, largemouth, smallmouth, pike, crappie and walleye. Not a bad for us flatlanders from Illinois.

Boys were fishing off the dock this weekend, not sure if the underwater light is making a difference but the boys were catching hand sized sunfish nice ones. They all go back. The lake has always had nice sunfish but you have to sort thru them, not true this past weekend.

Took 3 nights, the fish know what the feed can shaking means, they no longer flee when the food hits the water. My kind of aquarium. I tied a 1/4 ounce jig on on went with the tiny twister body on for the wife. The jig drops fast so the littles don't hit it, she is not sorting thru as many little fish. All fish are released, and there is no fishing when the light is on.

Head down to Dale Hollow Wednesday for couple days to test out the new go fast motor. Probably pull some cranks for walleye and try some deep water pan fishing. Fishing will be an after thought as the wife will be my co-pilot

Got hammered by thunderstorms yesterday. Didn't get the boat on till this morning. Gonna love the new motor. Saw 44 mph this morning at 5200rpm. Got another 1000 rpm to play with. BTW the wife doesn't like going fast in the boat..... gonna have a bruise!

Snapped this shot on the Obey river right after the storms yesterday.
