Got the boat out this am and got into some Large mouth, was a fun day on the water and not working. Most were around this size, hoping to get to Erie this week for some SMB.

Water temp was 62*, air temp was 50*. It went up to 73 around noon. I was temped to keep em, but they lived to see another day. I’m gonna be targeting walleyes soon and hoping to fill the freezer up

Sold my fiberglass boat a year and a half ago. Really missed not having a boat so I picked this up. It is a 2020 with a 40hp. A lot smaller and less horses than my last boat it is really perfect for the place I fish. 70310582425__11FDD7AC-7F93-4712-9AD6-F7748E7ABA47.jpeg

Best fish so far in the new boat. Just shy of 4 pounds. 70700389544__4883DEE8-EA20-4EED-985F-5B44FE6331CB.jpeg

I have a swallow nest with hatchlings in it under the pontoon, there is also a bass under the dock that will eat anything that falls out. I laugh she is uncatchable.

My fishing has stunk since I moved. Went to a new river yesterday but it was dominated by gar. Didn't catch a thing. Have to keep trying new areas.

Love this time of year, know exactly where to fish for what. Crappies over by the boat landing, sunfish and bass off my dock, and south along the shore. Pig pike? 20' with suckers in just over 15' deep close to the weed line.

I've enjoyed many hour catching walleyes on on the deep edge of weedlines with slip bobbers.

I forgot to post pics from our annual fishing trip in May. Right after the walleye opener here in MN. We let the idiots do their thing, Then do ours. Lol. We go to my brother's place in Backus for the opener. Fish Haddie lake for a couple days. Hit Upper Red lake early Tuesday. Meet up with some others. Then head to Beaudette. Fish Lake of the Woods the rest of the week. We stay at a place called Bay View Lodge. Awesome folks, great prices.

Sorry, somehow hit post before finished. The first part was cold and nasty. The last few days were nice. Had several good catches and fish fries and still took some home. We've caught a few northern here and there but this year it was a lot of them. I caught 7 in one day. Luckily I caught as many walleye, because the other guys were slacking. Lol. And we've never caught Perch. This year we caught a half dozen 11" or more. Not complaining.

My best this year was 23". My brother 23 1/2". Another buddy got his PB of 29 3/4". Beat me by 2". Lol. And for some reason won't let me upload those pics. 20230517_174708.jpg 20230519_204414.jpg

We are blessed to have 3 of the best fisheries in America right at our fingertips. I try to make it to Red and Lake of the Woods at least once each every year.

I'm currently boatless, and it's killing me. Paperwork is in the works on a new rig, but everything akes forever when it comes to banks. We're waiting on the official payoff letter from the seller's bank to arrive, which is the current holdup. If we can get that today, there's a small outside chance I have the boat before we head North next Friday for the 4th of July week. If not, this may be my first trip to the UP in a decade when I don't have a boat to go fishing, which would really suck.
