Still going to be in smallie territory, but you'll be in prime blue cat territory as well. Not sure how hard they are to catch from the bank as they normally drift/troll for them, this particular guide(Showme Catfishing) guides around the Arch area. Be a fun fight though!
I'm excited to be able to fish those catfish when the bass arent moving due to the cold. I have so many places I want to try out. Little cuts off the Missouir and Mississippi.
A local bar just hired a very nice young guy to bartend. Kinda a dweeb but a real nice fella that likes to fish. After a few beers I decided to show him a small lake I've fished for 30+ years. I've lost interest in fishing the past few years so, my guarded secret lake I felt like I'd give up to someone I like. He fit the bill. Showed him on onx map and details where to catch BIG walleyes. Over the years, I'd say I've caught over 100 "eyes" from 27"_31". Also big LMB, CRAPPIES and pike. The guy is on cloud nine! I really hope he does well.
I did some more deer scout today and after climbing mimi mountains for a few hours I decided to slip down to the river.. Within 5 minutes I felt 2 strong hits right in front of a rock. Both times I locked into the fish and it got off. So I throw it back there for the 3rd time and when it hit I gave everything that I got. It immediately pulled about 20' of drag and fought like hell for a long time period I believe it's my 1st freshwater drum.
I used to slaughter the wallies and saugeyes during that same time window down in southern Indiana. Even until about 4pm. Had a blast doing it, too. Especially on a cloudy day, we'd be pretty busy pulling them in and then boom- it was like a switch would go off and they'd be done. Catch 'em, drive back home and fry them up for dinner. Good times.
Took a trip to Lake Michigan for a friend's bachelor party and got into the salmon pretty good. Caught more salmon out of my friend's boat than we did on the charter
Deer scouted for awhile. Glad I brought my fishing pole. Walked down by the river and saw gar. Sight fished two of them...was fun!
Sold my bass boat, just wasn’t using it enough. Bought this to leave at the in laws to get on the water
Oh well. There is a $5 fine in my boat if you get caught casting without an open beer. Then again I don't take fishing that serious. Plus if you don't have a net you are bound to catch a big one.
I need to get my post count up to 50 so I’m gonna rattle off some posts in here.. Here’s my “kayak” that I customized with just about every bell and whistle I could get (except live scope $$$) Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I took a trip down to Wolf Creek Dam below Cumberland Lake and it was AWESOME, easily the best fishery I’ve been to. Here are a few of my favorites from that trip: Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
