Dang that’s crazy. I can only eat fish if they are battered. We did have some walleye over memorial that had just lemon pepper and a light, light batter and it’s the only thing I ate at the entire potluck. At the cabin now for the rest of the week. The largemouth are sitting on the beds from what I can see from the dock. Don’t like to fish for spawning fish really. When I was locked in my house for 2 months working from home I came to the conclusion it would be a good idea to go buy a boat. So one night after work I drove over to Cabela's and bought one. When I returned home, my wife was super thrilled with me. Picking her up tonight after work. Nothing too fancy - ended up with a 16 foot Tracker Pro-Guide v-hull with a 75 hp Merc. Just enough to hit some of the local lakes with the kids and drag up North a couple of times a year for some long weekends. I'll post a few pics this weekend on the maiden voyage.

I use the glimmer of hope tactic, say she wants new flooring in a room and I want to go fishing instead. Run to Menards buy a box of laminate bring it home put the box in the room she wants redone, and head out fishing. She has the illusion her floor will be redone "soon"

Got to break in the new boat this weekend. Weather was great and we had a blast. Didn't catch anything big, but we're learning a new lake and not taking things too serious. My son caught the first official fish on the new boat about 5 minutes in. This is roughly 1.5 hours after getting 4 steples in the back of his head after falling off our deck. Went back yesterday morning and caught a couple dozen bass all about this size. The bigger ones weren't all that interested in us.
I have a lot to learn about night fishing for catfish. Daughter and I got skunked last night. Made me start researching tips and techniques. I will find a way!
