Yeah mainly bass, but im not picky. Crappie and bluegills will fill the cooler when we can find them.
This up coming weather the end of the week is going to push back my Florida trip back a couple weeks. It sucks, but being retired allows me to be able to go when the weather is right. It also gives me 2 more weeks to get my hip stronger. Probably a win win really.
Trying to find a suitable wheel house. I just want a nice easy fish house that is comfortable and easy to use. I do not need an outside awning, I do not need a "rest room", I do not need an oven, a stove top range, microwave built in sound system and a TV.
I am certain I do not have the time patience or skill to build a wheel house. I don't have a shop to build it in. I am going to keep looking I am sure when ice fishing ends prices will drop.

I can't get away with that, need room for a couple kids and another adult. I have been searching online I did find one that does not have a toilet/restroom but has stove, oven and microwave. Like I said will continue to look, might as well wait till end of season might find a bargain.
So I did find one that interested me it is a 2010 very good shape has no bathroom but has the range and oven and microwave 7 lit holes couch seating and a bunk. I called a sales guy and asked him to run the numbers for me. His quote $2000 down $195 for 72 months @7.99% interest. Are you kidding me people would consider paying that much with interest and 6 years to pay? I only pay cash for toys my son in law and I will split and pay cash in the spring and get a better deal.
Been busy tying up some new crappie jigs getting ready for next weekend. Looking forward to soaking some of these in search of some slabs in Florida
Nephew is coming up again and bringing a friend. We are going to try to be more mobile and get after pike during the day and sit in the neighbors fish house Saturday night for crappies. Might try chasing some sunnies too.
Sota, best shore lunch was January, 1970, class field trip. Water temp was about 40 and the crappie were willing. One student worked as a guide in Minnesota. He brought a filet knife, salt & pepper and two sticks of butter and a roll of aluminum foil. Baked the filets in coals.
Sota, sounds good. Didn't mention the dinner took place off a tributary of the Tennessee River. Had pike filet in Michigan once. Very good.
Only time I will bother with them is thru the ice. summer they are soft and slimy, in the winter they are just slimy. The weather will be good and stable should not be too hard to get the boys some action thru the ice. I will start tonight making sure the rods are all rigged with the right lures for 3 kinds of fish, charge up the electronics and the auger Ready for Saturday.
Getting excited the weather is holding will have morning fog Saturday, warm with a SW light wind. Going to be a perfect day to be on the ice.
Pike did not bite yesterday but the crappies played along, have a good mess of them to filet, the kids caught fish.
