I have always thought of getting a fish mounted. Here is my best bass with a flyrod, almost pulled the trigger on it..

Carp are not fish. There is a reason you are allowed to shoot them.

My only fish mount is a 10lb brown trout caught in NY. I'll have to see if I can find a pic.

Awesome. My brother goes to Falcon every year. Amazing place for trophy bass. 5-6 lbers are the norm. Last trip, he caught three 9 lbers back to back to back.

No doubt and they are about one of the best looking fish out there. Way more pretty then a largemouth.

I would think 20" is quite possible on a weekend at Sandusky. Spent 2 days there and we smoked em, I think I caught 6 small mouth 4.5-5.5 and lost count of the 3.5-4lb fish.

Don't know if you have been to 1,000 islands lately, but for the past three years it's been producing bigger bags than Champlain by a good margin. The larger local and FLW tourneys up there have been producing lots of 20-24lb bags of smallmouths. The gobies have increase the average fish size by a TON. The largemouths are hard to find up there now, but it's likely the best smallmouth fishing in the country right now. One of my good buddies is on the Everstart series and caught 8 different tournament bags this year up there between 20-22lbs of smallmouth.

The milfoil has been off on Champlain between Crown Point and South Bay since about 2008 and it's showing on the bags. Not sure how the north end of the lake is as I rarely go further north than Fields Bay where Otter Creek meets the lake.

    Tennnessee River lakes...

Agreed; they are rare but possible.

Yeah them Canadians especially can catch em up there in 1000 islands, especially if the wind is down enough to get on the lake. I havent been up there since 2010 so not sure how the river has been but all the time when I was there, if there was 20+ bag it was on the lake not the river. But even in the river its hard to not get 15lbs...from the front of the boat anyway.

Im the other way around, I know the northern part on Champlain better then the southern. I love small mouth fishing so tend to be up there more. And I know some huge large mouth areas in the north, saving the 70 mile run to Ti if the launch is out of Plattsburgh. If I was going to fun fish I would much rather be north for the smallies. But the whole lake is sick for sure. Fished right off Burlington but other then that havent spent much time in the center of the lake. But I know Lavictory Jr likes the middle of the lake a lot. Seems like thats always where he is tournament days. I miss them both, its been a while since I been there. Hoping to make it this year, even if its just a BFL as a co-angler.
