well i figured this is a good way to get some good inside info about bow huntin. I live in upstate new york and have always hunted .. just never with a bow. I bought a used Mathews adrenaline a best friend of mine who upgraded to the new Mathews z7xtreem mag.. I had to put a new cam on because i needed a little longer draw. Had some arrows made up and sighted her in today and bought a Scott release.. just from trying out all the releases i find the Scott to be the best. the whole design is an advantage. thinner straps and a buckle ensure the same fit and comfort for consistency. the trigger is perfect, just the smallest pull and she lets it fly... it takes away the chance of anticipation when shooting allowing better control and tighter shot groups.. my first three arrows with it all shot in the same hole.. thats right all touching.. the guys down to bow hunters plus off rt 30 in Amsterdam set me up just right and let me shoot as much as i needed to get it right. they have an awesome indoor range and help you get everything done fast and proper. I hope to hear some feed back about the bow and if its a good buy.. would love some tips about good arrows and heads to shoot around here..

You really didn't say how much you paid for it, which is understandable. If you didn't pay a whole lot then yes it is a nice bow but nothing better than the Z7 in my opinion.

I honestly don't think their is a "bad" bow, but you can't go wrong with a Mathews. Sounds like you found a good place to get help and a good pro shop is worth it's weight in gold. As far as broad heads I've had good luck with muzzy. Rage and slick trick make a good broad head you just need to decide what your preference is over mechanical or fixed. If its economical for you try different kinds till you find what you like. We can all tell you what we like, but you need to find what you prefer.

I'm a big fan of the g5 t3's, make sure to put them in your trials. They fly very true in my experience.

The Mathews Drenaline is a great bow. Solocam with a smooth draw, quiet on the shot, 320fps IBO rating, 33" axle to axle, and it's got a 7 inch brace height, so it's a good forgiving bow. Don't get too caught up in the bow make, but Mathews and Hoyt bows are just about as comfortable as you can get and have trusted quality.
