Just wanted to follow up after previous posts about introducing my girlfriend to archery hunting this year; she got it done last night!!!! If you ever get the opportunity to introduce someone to our sport, it is the most incredible feeling in the world. She actually told me to hunt somewhere else last night because I was bad luck. With 5 mins left before the end of legal shooting light I got the text "DOE DOWN". I was actually shaking as bad as if I had done it myself because I was so excited. Me and my filming partner immediately climbed down, drove a couple miles to our lease where she shot it in a clover "kill plot" I put in this year, and it was by far one of the most exciting moments of my hunting career. I'm incredibly proud because it wasn't something I pushed on her to do, rather she expressed interest so I got her her first bow in June. She shot nearly every day from then until now, helped with stands, etc and it is a testament to the effort she put in.
Thank you all! I actually made the joke to her about taking a bite out of the heart, she wasn't buying it. She absolutely is a keeper, I am incredibly fortunate to be able to share the same passions as my significant other. My only dilemma is going to come when she wants to expand her horizons and hunt my other spots, she is insistent on going after my target bucks now.
Awesome congratulations to you both. I am taking my fiancé on her first hunt in a few weeks and I think I'm more excited about it than she is. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That's awesome! Tell her congrats. It makes if very fulfilling when you can share the passion with someone like that. Good luck and good times in the years to come!
