Well it finally came together tonight on the second to last day of rifle here in PA. I got back from finals week and climbed up in the tree around 3:30. The farmer began to take the beans off of the field that I was hunting over at 5:15. This guy stepped out at 80 yards just as the farmer was starting into the field. I put three 165 gr. bullets from my .30-30 into before he made it 60 yards. We have nearly 300 pictures of him from the beginning of July until this week. To top things off I was using my grandpa's .30-30 that he gave me before he died.
That's awesome..............congratulations! I won't even hold it against you that we won't get any team points for him! That will be a fine buck for the wall! Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great story, I can relate as well my grandfather gave me his 30-30 also, but I have yet t kill a deer with it. Just don't gun hunt much, but def on my list of to dos. He's a beautiful buck congrats to you, gunna look great on your wall!!!
