Hope the reviews I've read on the PrimosTruth cams prove worthy. Just ordered 2 of the 46 models for $89.95 each with the wife's permission of course. Never owned or used any trailcams before. Wish me luck!

hoytuser.....hopefully I can get some good pics.

Preacher Tony......I've been reading reviews and trying to research trail cams for some time. For my needs I cannot justify buying an expensive one. If so I would have bought a Reconyx. I did buy a Bushnell Trophy Cam at Gander Mtn. last nite while there, but after futher reading on the web at different sites(including here) will be returning it this week. For the same price I bought 2 of the Primos 46 models and I've read very encouraging reports so that is what I am going with.

I have a home made one an love it but tought to do. I want to learn on my own so that I can do it. Other than that I am looking for your review also. My cousin said that the Cuddeback Capture is a good one. The 3.0 megpix is the one he is talking about and not the IR.

You'll like those cams. Where the heck did you order them for that cheap?

That is a good price on the 46 model, I think i gave 129.00 at bass pro this summer.

My 46 Cam takes good video, but the ir light set on 46 will spook game because it is very bright but you have the option of resetting that mode for 25 ir lighting may help and the cam has decent trigger speeds but is best used over a bait pile or scrape or down a trail so it triggers and get your pics.Mine has some blurry pics and battery life is so-so using the d-cells but much better than my other cams with the same d-cell battery's, Maybe one the best d-cell cams out there on the market.
A small clunk that it makes when it triggers can be heard at about ten feet to my old ears. not a deal breaker but just to inform you

all the reviews i have looked at seem to echo all the same issues that mine has. Overall a great cam if set up right and put up in a good location and if you can get it for 89.00 bucks even better.

Please post where you found it for that kind of money.

ultramax.......thanks for the tips. I'll be using them strictly on trails. Surely the trigger speed will be fast enough to get pics of deer walking. I'll have one setup near a creek and the deer usually stop before they cross. What do you call so-so for battery life?

    hi cougar

when you get your cam set it up in your yard and do some simple walk by test, I test mine at three ranges like ten feet and then 15 feet and again at twenty walking at a normal pace and see how the pics turn out. you will get a quick feel at how fast it takes a pic and what angle you will need to trigger the cam and not get just a butt pic or blurry pics
I test mine on a tree pointed at my garage door and let it run for a week and got some real world work out while working with the cams setting modes and after a week of three kids a dog and wife running in and out check your batterys for life span

run some night test to get a real feel as to how bright this cams ir lighting is because it is very bright and deer react to this cam as you will see by your nighttime pics. you can reset the ir lighting down to 35 instead of 46 to tone the ir flash down. some deer just do not come back after seeing the ir lighting.

For you guys that have a hard time investing the extra money in Reconyx cameras.....you can find them (used) somewhat cheaper on Archerytalk.com classifieds section. Normally there are a few on there during each month but they don't last long. I just used Archerytalk to sell my Reconyx RM45 and a friend just sold his RC 60 HOs on there. We are upgrading to the new HC series.
