make a long story short, been shooting for only 3days, had an old bear camo whitetail II. been sitting in my parents garage for over 10years, I know it's older than that. decided to take up bow hunting, took her to the shop got a new string, sights and a rest. MAX4 brand sights and rest, the rest is the biggest POS ever no one can help me. I was all over the place, went back to the 2 prong now I'm on target.
I don't have a 10 only a 15, I'm able to shoot apple off a target at 20yds. I'm going to work at 30 tomorrow. I know this takes time to develop but.

I bought some whitetail 6075 from gander mountain I think I don't remember box is out in the car. Anyways, the ass end of the arrow where the nooks are shatter when they hit the target. I guess you get what you pay for, these were the cheap ones. What arrows could I buy that are more durable, and wolnt effect my sights to much. Also using 100grain times, with predator fletchings

Chavo, if you can shoot an apple at 20 yards after just getting into bowhunting, then you are on target to do just fine. Order up some good arrows.

What is your draw length and what is the draw weight of the bow? Those are the keys to ordering arrows that match your set-up.

I don't know about the draw length it's a old bear whitetail II, it's pulling 55lbs right now. I got some gold tip hunter xt 50-75. Their working pretty good so far. Of coarse I haven't stuck a deer but their not breaking shooting into foam. I did shatter one though when I tried shooting a 12x12 target beside by truck. I hit the truck, it get's wild past 30yds I'm not sure why this is..

Good choice on Gold Tips. Honestly man, you could really just use a new bow! Sounds like yours is WAY out of tune. Ive tuned bows that shoot bullet holes at 10 yards, but you back up to 20, and they cant even hit a paper plate. If you can find a shop that will do some work on that bow, take it in, have them give it a tune-up, and see if they can do a basic papertune on it. Probably not worth it to do a complete papertune because the the specs on your bow are going to be very "primative" as far a compounds are concerned.

Good luck to you though, and make sure you shoot some broadheads before you start flinging arrows at a deer.

I'm not looking to sink anymore money into this bow. I've had it laying in my parents garage for years. I'm having my first son due oct 28th, that didn't happen so she's scheduled to be induced on the 4th. I 've only hunted gun season in the past. With a new son though I didn't think I'd have time to get out in gun season was going to give bow hunting a shot.
Basically I will not take a **** shot, I know of three people just this year that have shot deer and never found them. One guy shot two and never found them. to me it pointless to wound them pisses me off actually.

had the same issue myself, though a bit different. I bought a new bow (vendetta XS) and with the bow I got a dozen "buck buster" arrows. These arrows are made by victory (a quality brand), but I had 8 of the 12 break about 2-3 inches from the field tip. They broke on flex, impact, and had one break in flight. I've had several people say that they're great arrows and inexpensive. I used them for a week. When I had 4 arrows break in a matter of 5 minutes (These arrows hadn't been shot more than 15 times) I decided it was time for new ones.

Personally, I think safety is more important than a few dollars. Know what a carbon arrow feels like when it's sticking through your hand? I know I sure don't want to find out. I bought some easton axis and couldn't be happier. They're a bit heavier, but that's not a bad thing (about 100gr heavier). Luckily my bow flings them like they're 20gr. Same pin out to 25 yards on 58# with a 413gr arrow. Arrows aren't something I'll ever skimp on, and wouldn't have with these but the were "included" with the purchase of the bow (bought brand new).
