Hey guys, heading out for the first time this morning. I think the conditions are good, all snow is melted but have had heavy rains for the past few days and of course it is in the middle of March...........Gonna give it a shot today. Gonna take my 1 1/2 year old yellow lab with me, she usually digs up and finds all kinds of things around my property. I will post when we get back, wish me luck.

Thanks for the good luck! We spent about 5 hours in the woods today and I guess 5 or so miles we did. We worked a creek bed, both sides, for a long way and then finished up on an edge of a huge corn field. We only had time to do a small portion of the field, cant wait to go back. We did not find anything but we had a great day. Me and my lab, in the woods, midweek.....it doesnt get much better than that. She has'nt moved since we got back, she kept a 120mph pace the whole time in the woods.

Might try again at the end of the week.

Sounds like you had a great time. We took our yellow lab out this afternoon for the first time this year. She is 8 years old. She had a blast but was wore out also by the time we called it quits. We didn't push her hard and took more breaks then we normally do to take it easy on her. We had a hard time getting her to get out of the truck tonight when we got home. I think she was afraid we were going to walk some more. LOL

She doesn't care about finding sheds. Just likes to run and snoop around.

My uncle just got a new wirehair. She loves the shed I gave her, and he told me I should take her out. I think after the fun you described I will.
