I have an old recurve that I found, like 15 years ago. It just sits here and looks cool. I had put a new string on it, many moons ago...I've shot this thing maybe 3 times...I think..With my compound arrows... Last night, my buddy dropped off hunting gear to be sold. Mixed in with the Easton Carbon arrows, were some older aluminum arrows..AND, field points. I threw a few in and went out back of my property. These are my results thus far from like 22.5yards(just where I decided to stand). First Group of the day: Aiming for the center. I noticed I needed to find some kind of anchor point, once I did, here is what I got. Aiming for top black dot: I know its only 22.5yards, but, I'm proud of what I accomplished in 15minutes. I love shooting this thing, and, might even hunt with it next week, if I feel confident. I wont give up compound, because I like the range ability, but, this is a different spin. Right now, this is the only bow that I have to hunt with and theres a really nice buck cruising the woods behind my aunts house....Soo....:D
Haha...I'll call it beginers luck. These arrows were definitly not tuned for this bow..They could be a good match, just by coincidence, though. I dont think I can match that group everytime at 22.5yards, but, I'm getting there..... LOVE IT !!! Now I know how you become addicted. Its so simple..No sights, no pins, no nothing !!(shooting isnt simple, though).
Wow..I thought I was going to get the "keep practicing" response.. Like I said, must be beginers luck. I even have a friend here that can verify that I shot that. I just shot again, with the same results. I'm still getting some bad groups, but, I'm noticing improvements. Guess its just my thang ?!?!
Drop Tine , that's amazing. I just shot my Grizzly for the first time last Wed. and was happy to have groups under two FEET at 20 yards. If i send you a hat would you wear it and send it back, maybe some of that mad skill will rub off. J/K LOL. Keep up the good work and go win a trophy.
Damn that was quick learning i had to practice shooting like 100 arrows every day for a month and now i shoot patterns like that but to me the first arrow you shoot and where it goes at the start of every practice is the most important.
