My son has been training for the past month. Today was my first day back on the mat in 6 years. Wow. I thought I was going to go in and warm up like the old guy I have become. Well no, sparring for an hour. Goodness gracious I was hurting at the end. My son ended his class a few minutes before us so he was able to watch me spar for a bit. My son has a habit of not believing what I say until I show him. After class I asked him, "now do you believe me about the moves I have taught you?" hahahaha. He said, "yes Dad!"

I am going to be in a world of pain for about three days as skin ripped off my toes and fingers......welcome back old friend

Congrats on the hookup! The best thing you can do to repay him is spread the word on his facility and get people to join;)

Jason, I already started to do it at work. Already have some guys interested. I also got a guy to train there for a year a few years back.

NOT... you say your under 10 son needs a truly physical outlet. Come on now.... I'm thinking his Dad wants him to be a bad *** and wants him to be a kick *** kid. Me....???? I wanted my kid to think. LOL

I started in martial arts when I was just a little younger than your son. Next to living with my handicapped sister, it was probably the biggest influence in building the charater I have today. Focus, dicipline, attention to detail, coordination, confidence, respect, flexibility, balance, responsibility... all forged in the gym.

I miss those days. R.I.P. Taika Oyata
