So, I booked a hunt with an outfitter in Illinois for opening week, Oct 1-5. My question is what type of weather should I expect? I anticipate that it may vary, but would like to know what you all have experienced during that time of year. Should I bring some heat gear in case it gets really hot? Are the leaves changing colors at that time? I plan on using Predator Spring Green camo. What about rain? I hear it has been a dry year so far in that area. Thanks.
Hard to tell that time of year, but plan for cool mornings and comfortable temps after 1030. The evening hunts will be warm, but temps will likely start dropping rapidly the last two hours of shooting light. Put your jacket on early, so you're ready for prime time. Go get you some Marine!
Illinois weather is all over the place that time of year. Prepare for as much as you can, you will be happy. I would say no extreme cold weather though, but maybe extreme hot.
That's right where I live and as of right now on the extended forcast after Sept 7 until Oct 12 the highest temp is about 84 and the highest of the low temps is around 65-70. Now granted it may change when your talking about a month or better out. Right now its 97 outside. Like I said though I live right where your talking about so you can hit me up right beforehand and I can let ya know. Good lucky brother, former Sgt of Marines myself, you outta have some decent luck if weather does what its supposed to.
Thanks.... I'm heading to Bass Pro today to pick up some heat gear to keep me cool in the stand. I plan on staying out all day, every day during opening week. Semper Fi, Ryan
