I am just looking for as much info as I can find on CO unit 24 and archery hunting elk in general. I am going with two successful elk hunters (father-in-law & brother-in-law). FiL has hunted this area many times prior to ten years ago and been successful. My BiL lived in Idaho and has several nice elk to his name. I have never been elk hunting, I am a avid deer hunter in MD and NC. I have several good bucks to my name. I shoot a Hoyt Rampage 65lbs, 28.5" dl, to 60 yds pretty dam well. I use Easton ST Epic 400's and 340's with G5 Montec's. They come in at @ 390-400 grains total. I am down to 4 arrows of each spine so I have to get new arrows. I was thinking ST Axis 400's as my Hoyt shoots the 400's i have a little more consistently than the 340's. Anyone have any thoughts on any of this or the questions bellow?

1 What is a good broad head for Elk?
2 What is a good arrow weight (GPI) for a 70 lbs 28.5 dl bow, also what would be a good total weight for arrows? (I need them to be the same I use for deer back east.)

Thanks for the info and God Bless!
