    Hi!

I've done archery in the past but just recently I purchased a Darton proline that was built sometime in the 1980's. It's in pretty good condition but needs a string replacement.

Now, I've never owned a bow in my life until now and I'm severely confused on what kind of string.

    Here's an image of it:

I'd take it to a pro shop and have them look it over and then see what they.

Maybe you should go back and read his post in its entirety.

I agree with ksredneck. I would also consider a different bow. It will probably cost more than its worth to replace the strings. It is a cool looking bow though.

With a bow that age I would take it to a shop and have them look it over before I would attempt to shoot it. I agree that the price of the string and install on a bow of that age might not be worth the trouble. Bows of the last several years are leaps and bounds ahead of what you have and for a minimal price you can really get setup with some great gear that will not only shoot faster but will shoot so much easier with good amount of let-off.
